I found my mentor at the Women in IT event. It was a great event. The speakers were amazing. The best part of it was the networking and the ability to meet other people in similar fields."

Creating opportunities for women in IT:
What works

How are companies successfully delivering diversity in IT?

“Now that list has a very healthy number of women on it each year and really helps to highlight the role women play in IT in the UK.”

Dame Wendy Hall
The most influential women in UK IT 2014

Since Computer Weekly launched its list of the most influential women in UK IT, the number of initiatives championing and encouraging women in technology has grown enormously. Through schools, universities, recruiters and employers, many programmes are now in place to try to address the IT diversity gap that most obviously manifests itself in the proportion of women in the sector stubbornly remaining around 16%.

But – at last – some organisations are achieving success at growing the number of female tech professionals they employ. What are they doing right? In this year’s event, we hear from speakers that are delivering to diversity to find out what works in creating opportunities for women in IT.

Ladies – why not bring a male colleague along with you too, who knows what they might learn…
