Strategies for designing an integrated data architecture to enhance database, BI and analytics performance
Modern day levels of high-velocity data growth have put increased pressure on today's information management systems to support increasingly complex workloads to meet business demand.
Whether you're running a combination of Oracle databases and/or Oracle WebLogic on Sun or HP hardware, chances are you're struggling to deliver high-quality application performance amid a tidal wave of data.
Attend our upcoming seminar to learn how to improve application and service performance levels while lowering costs with a flexible, integrated data architecture designed to support today's increasingly complex workloads.
You'll learn how emerging trends in data warehousing, analytics, database performance and virtualization are enabling today's global IT leaders to cut costs, improve operational efficiency and stay one step ahead of the competition.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND:
Whether you’re seeking ways to improve application performance, enhance IT efficiency or meet next-generation database workloads, you'll learn cost-saving ideas for overcoming common challenges such as:
- Managing against extreme volumes of data growth
- Updating legacy data warehouses to deliver advanced analytical insight
- Paying for vastly under-utilized server capacity
- Inadequate SAP (and other mission-critical application) performance
- Spiraling software and licensing costs
- Delivering sub-par service levels and a lack of on-demand cloud provisioning.
Discover how to stop over-paying for under-utilized hardware and software and learn how to run your IT operations more efficiently in 2012 and beyond.
Find out how to break the cycle of spiraling hardware and software licensing costs while improving performance levels, reducing IT complexity and reducing energy consumption.

SESSION DESCRIPTIONS:
Beyond Traditional Information Systems: What Transformation in 2011-2016 Will Bring
Due to increasing data volume and data's high utility, there has been an explosion of capabilities in the possibilities in the past few years brought into the early mainstream.
Many are confused by the value of Hadoop, data warehouse appliances and stream processing. Their value propositions seemingly conflict with current information management infrastructure.
Costs for keeping "all data for all time" in an enterprise data warehouse (EDW) are still escalating, even though storage remains historically inexpensive. The key to making the correct data storage selection is an understanding of your workloads - current, projected and envisioned.
You will learn:
- The place for Relational Row-Oriented Data Warehouse and Data Marts
- Efficient operation of RDBMS with I/O Bottleneck alleviation
- How multidimensional databases fit into an organization
- When data streams make an information store
- Hadoop basics for Big Data, webscale and unstructured workloads
- Cloud considerations for information storage and interaction.
This practical session will organize and explore the major categories of information stores currently available and help you make the best choices to ensure your information management systems become an unparalleled corporate asset.
Leveraging Optimized Systems to Improve Database Performance, Enhance BI Capabilities and Reduce Data Management Costs
Skyrocketing operating costs and flat budgets are forcing IT leaders to seek new ways to drive increased IT efficiency while delivering innovative, high-quality IT services. Oracle database and middleware clients, including those using Sun or HP servers face many concerns:
- High software maintenance costs
- Expensive "one-size-fits-all" configurations
- High-maintenance analytics
- Restrictive agreements that may require buying more than is needed
- Uncertainty surrounding SPARC and Itanium roadmaps.
Discover how IBM can help you lower your data management costs while improving database performance today. This session will highlight key topics such as:
-
Best practices for leveraging optimized systems
-
Strategies for delivering high-performance analytics
-
Tips for achieving superior database performance at lower cost
-
Data center consolidation and server virtualization trends.
