Mark has worked as a freelance consultant since 2001 specialising in Microsoft infrastructure and collaboration technologies. He is a highly experienced real world consultant and certified trainer and has undertaken work across both the private and public sectors for organisations as diverse as Shell, Nestle, United Utilities, Standard Bank of South Africa, Mitel, Wolverhampton Council and for Microsoft itself.

Mark was first introduced to messaging solutions with Microsoft Mail and has designed and implemented solutions using Microsoft Exchange since version 4. His first exposure to e-mail archiving came with deployments of the then KVS Enterprise Vault with Exchange 5.5; since then he has delivered integrated messaging and archiving solutions across a range of platforms and organisations.        

In addition to his messaging experience Mark has a proven track record of architecting and implementing the full range of Microsoft infrastructure technologies; Live/Office Communications Server, SQL Server, SharePoint, Systems Center, Active Directory, ISA and Hyper-V.

Mark has been instrumental to some of the largest deployments of Microsoft technology in the world including a 250,000 seat worldwide deployment of Systems Management Server and a 1500 server deployment of ISA Server. He has 11 years experience of delivering Exchange solutions with integrated 3rd party archiving.

Mark’s qualifications include MCSE + Internet, MCSE (Messaging) and MCSE Security and he is also a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT).
