Data Center Optimization:
An executive dinner discussion on strategies for thriving in tough economic times

Join independent expert Greg Schulz and sponsors HP and MSI for a great dinner -- and join in an exchange of critical information you’ll use to make informed decisions for your IT infrastructure.

It’s not news to anyone that the economy is in a severe down cycle – and most IT budgets are flat (at best!). And in this macro environment, your primary objective is to reduce costs – but the data growth you need to support and the user requirements you face are unrelenting.

So we invite you to spend an evening and get advice from industry experts and peers alike on the areas of your IT shop you should consider optimizing, automating, consolidating, virtualizing and investing in to come out of this recession primed to scale and grow.

Seating at this exclusive dinner is strictly limited, so we encourage you to register right away. Call roundtable coordinator Amanda Lamb at (508) 621-5574 or apply online and Amanda will contact you.

About this Dinner Discussion

Organizations everywhere are banging the drum of “do more with less” – but what specifically does that mean?

Our keynote speaker, Greg Schulz, will share insights on the areas your IT peers are focusing on. Greg is the founder and Sr. Consulting Analyst for The StorageIO Group. The StorageIO group is a technology analyst and consulting firm founded by storage veteran, author and industry analyst Greg Schulz. Mr. Schulz has worked with Unix, Windows, Mainframe, OpenVMS and other hardware, network, and software environments. Greg has worked as a programmer, systems administrator, disaster recovery consultant, storage planner, capacity planner, systems engineer, technologist and storage industry analyst. Mr. Schulz has been involved with various storage-related organizations including the computer measurement group (CMG), storage networking industry association (SNIA), RAID advisory board (RAB), and vendor-specific user groups, in addition to being the author and illustrator of "Resilient Storage Networks - Designing Flexible Scalable Data Infrastructures (Elsevier)". Greg is a regular contributor to the Storage Decisions conference, SearchStorage.com and Storage magazine.

After Greg’s presentation, the floor will be open for you to participate with your peers during a panel discussion that includes technology experts from HP and MSI. Participants will reveal how they are transforming data center operations to save money while supporting growth.

Discussion topics include:

  • Changing data and information accesses patterns including Web 2.0
  • Virtualization evolving from consolidation to massive scaling beyond a single server
  • Emerging hybrid data and storage applications for blade servers and blade centers
  • Virtualization evolving from consolidation to IT resource management transparency
  • Complementary technologies to enable virtualized environments including I/O virtualization
  • Data protection for virtualized environments
  • Where to virtualize?
  • Where to consolidate?
  • What can be automated?
  • What technologies should you be investing precious budget on?

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to get information that you need, network with true peers and enjoy a great dinner. Seats at this dinner are guaranteed to be claimed quickly, so act today by calling Amanda Lamb at (508) 621-5574 or apply online.
