For many organizations, Windows Server and the major applications – Exchange Server and SQL Server—are mission critical. Organizations seeking to drive maximum performance and reliability from these applications have had difficult choices to make. IT managers and architects operate in an environment with budget, space, and knowledge constraints which prevent them from delivering top performance.
Join us for this free half-day seminar where Nelson Ruest, Microsoft Technology Expert, will teach IT managers, directors, architects, and other decision makers how to best take advantage of the capabilities within the products in their current state and how to maximize the benefits inherent with upgrading to the latest and greatest editions of these mission critical applications. In addition, he’ll address server virtualization and its impact on performance.

Your morning starts out with breakfast and the day's agenda includes time for Q&A, networking opportunities and tons of valuable information. And benefit from these key sessions:
Session 1 – New Product Overview and Transition Strategies
This session will begin by examining the state of the union, or what organizations are doing with core applications such as SQL and Exchange. It will then go on to examine how best to maintain optimal performance for these mission critical applications as well as for the underlying operating system to help organizations that are not ready to upgrade, squeeze the most from their existing infrastructure including Windows Servers, Exchange 2003, and SQL Server until they upgrade.
Nelson will then review the new versions of these products - Windows Server 2008, Exchange Server 2007, SQL Server 2008 – by explaining their new features and enhancements and how to take advantage of them. Particular attention will be paid to Server Roles in Exchange Server 2007, enhanced scalability in the latest versions of SQL Server and the considerations to keep in mind when running these products on Windows Server 2008 vs. Windows Server 2003.
Session 2 – Achieving Top Performance
The second session will consist of a “deep dive” into the specifics of planning your infrastructure moving forward. Nelson will address key points for the implementation of a new, dynamic infrastructure by relying on Windows Server 2008, Exchange Server 2007 and SQL Server 2008 and the role server-based virtualization will have on these products moving forward.
