G. Mark Hardy, CISSP, CISA

G. Mark Hardy has been providing information security expertise to government, military, and commercial clients for over 25 years. A long-standing industry veteran, he is a perennial speaker at major industry events and the author of The Information Security Handbook for Enterprise Computing, Client/Server Security Handbook, and a contributing author to Network Security Secrets.
Mr. Hardy's professional background includes information security planning and policy development, managing security assessment and penetration teams, data encryption and authentication (including "breaking" commercial cryptographic algorithms), software development and strategic planning for e-commerce, and writing commercial risk assessment software. He has developed information security plans for four U.S. Military commands, and wrote the communications security encryption requirements for an experimental military satellite program. Additionally, he is a Captain in the United States Navy, and commands a reserve unit supporting United States Pacific Command (USPACOM).

Don Ulsch has extensive experience in the areas of security and risk management with expertise on regulatory compliance and the impact of emerging legislation and global harmonization, and information privacy. He is president and chief risk analyst of ZeroPoint Risk Research, LLC with his area of expertise residing in privacy and counter-economic espionage. He has written numerous articles, white papers, and is quoted in a number of books, in addition to authoring the forthcoming book, THREAT! Managing Risk in a Hostile World, to be published by the Institute of Internal Auditor Research Foundation. For Dan Brown, the author of The DaVinci Code, Mr. Ulsch advised him on the security and intelligence novel, Digital Fortress. He has served on the United States Secrecy Commission and advised the White House counter-intelligence staff of a US President. Mr. Ulsch also worked with U.S.
Senator Sam Nunn on developing information security position and policy papers.
Formerly, he was with the National Security Institute, where he worked with various intelligence agencies. He founded the information security practice at Dataquest/Dun & Bradstreet and served as director of global risk management at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. Most recently, he was the senior director of regulatory compliance at Gartner, Inc.
